Pizza Hut is hoping to make your holiday entertaining even easier by offering an all-in-one takeout solution — including the chance to pick up a bottle of its new Tomato Wine.
The tomato wine, Pizza Hut explained in a statement to Food & Wine, “captures the essence of your favorite slice in every sip.”
“The holidays are a time for many gatherings, but often, the gift of a bottle of wine can feel expected. Why not be the one to bring the pizza party with the gift of pizza wine and a Triple Treat Box designed to ignite fun and conversation,” Elyse Slaton, Pizza Hut’s director of advertising, shared. “As a brand that has pioneered many firsts in the industry, we took a beloved, classic pairing of pizza and red wine and flipped it on its head as we aim to spark intrigue and create a more memorable holiday pizza party.”
According to Pizza Hut, it’s made from “ripe, juicy tomatoes and infused with natural basil,” made in partnership with Irvine’s Just Beyond Paradise Winery, a family-owned vineyard in Kansas. The wine “offers an aromatic blend of fresh herbs and spices with rich, sun-ripened tomato notes and a subtle hint of toasted oak — reminiscent of a perfectly baked pizza crust.”

Sacrilege! They shouldn’t be allowed to call it wine. 😊🍷

Hmmmm….all of this is gonna promote some deep (pizza) soul searching…I mean…I’m intrigued, but the ick response is strong. Will you be a taster and report back, Beth? 😜

Noooooooo, it has the same ick factor for me. It is a clever marketing scheme, however.

My son’s favourite pizza is from Pizza Hut. He won’t have other types of pizzas. So this sounds like a wonderful stocking stuffer for him. What a brilliant marketing idea from Pizza Hut!

Smart on their part, but wine so it may not be a good stocking stuffer for your son. You drink the wine and give him the rest!

Well I love pizza and I love wine and I love tomatoes but…and the key word here is “but” I’m not sure combining them all together would be a match made in pizza, wine, tomato heaven but…again there’s that but…I would definitely taste it…if someone else was buying it. :)) Chris

Really? Where from? My mother’s family is from the Calabria region. My great grandparents immigrated to Branch, Michigan..near Ludington to homestead land..then later came to Flint (where I was born and raised) to find work. Chris
