At times we are in situations when we need help solving a problem and we ask for help. Help is good. But too often we say “Solve it for me.” too many times. Choose carefully-even the ones you want to help you with family matters.
Yikes, that’s a stunning quote. Out of curiosity, I looked up when “The Obsolete Man” episode aired, and it was in 1961. And here we are again. When truth is double-plus ungood.
Oh, that gets to the heart of it. Our current state reminds me of a quote from Lord of the Rings:
“I wish it need not have happened in my time” said Frodo. “So do I,” said Gandalf, “and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.” – J.R.R. Tolkien
Some network should rerun “The Twilight Zone.” It contains so much great commentary on human behavior. Maybe “the others” would learn the lessons if they see them in a tv show.
So many times he was absolutely right. He warned us, he showed us. I can still remember some of the episodes. In fact, when I was teaching at high school, I showed the kids one of the episodes.
They would like for libraries (and learning) to become obsolete.

beth, Ivor; I only get black screens lately – a problem of Jetpack. I used to love having a look into his offerings – always well informed! Pity
