petit à petit, l’oiseau fait son nid.

Standard

tiny bird builds her tiny nest, tiny piece by tiny piece

when the world feels heavy

keep going

help someone

make baby steps

do what you can

take little actions

share your thoughts

do small kindnesses

notice hidden beauties

in places you do not expect

it will make all the difference.

Petit à petit, l’oiseau fait son nid.

(Little by little, the bird makes its nest.)

this lovely french expression reminds us that big results come from consistent, small actions.

  1. I wish we had hummingbirds here, but we have tiny wrens and blue tits doing much the same thing. I always put out the fluff from the tumble drier for them to use in their nests. It’s a good life lesson to learn.
    Best wishes, Pete.

  2. Beautiful – both the humming bird and the words. Something we need to remember – that it is the little things both kind and not that change the world more often than the big things

  3. Great lesson to learn early in life and fall back on in adulthood when we are raising children to remind us what really is important. Love hummingbirds – we have them at home at our lake house. Could watch them all day!
