where is Pete the Cat?

Standard

I’m not sure where Pete the Cat is, but he may be stalking me.

‘among human beings, a cat is merely a cat; among cats, a cat is a prowling shadow in a jungle.’

-karel capek

Kkarel Čapek (1890 – 1938) was a Czech writer, playwright, critic and journalist. He has become best known for his science fiction which introduced the word, robot. He also wrote many politically charged works dealing with the social turmoil of his time. Influenced by American pragmatic liberalism, he campaigned in favor of free expression and strongly opposed the rise of both racism and communism in Europe. Though nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature seven times, Čapek never received it.

  1. Ha, ha, that stealthy, stalking Pete the Cat. Reminds me of the peek-a-boo I played with my 10-month-old grandson when he and his parents were visiting for several days over Thanksgiving. Grandma loved her time with Everett. Unfortunately he wasn’t that comfortable with us and having Mom and Dad out of sight when we sent them out on a dinner date. Mega crying. He doesn’t see us often enough given he lives four hours away. I thought video chatting as often as we do would help, but it didn’t.

    • yes, exactly how small children ‘hide.’ oh, yes, I know that feeling. that happened with my niece’s baby, who cried the entire time her mom and dad went out for dinner. it was their first time to have alone time without the baby and she wasn’t going to go easy on them. ) I didn’t take it personally, but I know they felt bad and didn’t need to. I felt bad that I couldn’t get her to calm but I did understand.
