loved our leaf man project. read the book to the kindergarten, they then created their own leaf art. we found out 2nd grade also read the book and created their own version of leaf art. the kinders created all kinds of cute pieces: cows, butterflies, and leaf men. after, we took a trip across the school to see what the 2nd grade had done. all kinds of cute pieces once again: leaf babies, leaf fairies, and then there was one – done by a little boy who had his own idea of what art is.
cute kinder projects
cute 2nd grade projects
and then of course, you have the scarlet johanson leaf project

If art is to nourish the roots of our culture, society must set the artist free to follow his vision wherever it takes him.

I love the ridiculousness of leaf ScarJo! That’s the kind of randomness of a future comedian.

I can tell you’re most likely to succeed :D lol
The leaves were really good. I’ll have to get some pictures of the stick men we made for the nephews. The elder of the two, Marley won a halloween costume thing yesterday – he looked awesome! I photoshopped him into a scene from Frankenstein (1931, Whale)
So do you teach?

I do miss being in the classroom – I stay in touch with quite of few former students; but other aspects of teaching, not so much. I’m having a quiet day today – I’ll email the picture :)

Wow- she’s pretty :-) hilarious. But all so cute. Love that we can experience I again through you. Minus the poor soul who pees in the classroom. Or throws up (that would be my daughter).

this was a great project with wonderful results! could not have even in my wildest dreams thought of the scarlett johanson one! kindergarten sounds very much like my preschool only better “results” and less helping, I would think with the art! there was something tingly in my feelings when they would move on to the next level and some would get off their IEP’s…miss it but the grandkids fill in lots of “gaps” and truly love those art projects!

These are all wonderful leaf ideas, to be honest I have never thought about it, but with Autumn shedding leaves every single day into my garden don’t be surprised if I don’t try some of these fine leaf projects for myself :) Have a lovely weekend Beth and enjoy the season :) ;)
