it is our last day today as a class.
and as we look back –
and look ahead –
we find
that a part of each of us
is still right here.
always has been.
and always will be.

Always jump in the puddles! Always skip alongside the flowers.
The only fights worth fighting are the pillow and food varieties.

I’m in a place where I need to see the world like a child, because externalities zap the will. Thanks for the reminder.

This is amazing!! Just this very day, my oldest daughter and I left a store and passed a puddle. She said “I so want to just jump in that puddle.” and I said “You should. We all want to do it but our inner adult smacks our inner child around and tells it not to.”
Inner adults need a smack up-side the head once in a while.
She jumped in it and we both got wet. We laughed and laughed.
Then I did laundry.

Hoping that everyone has a lovely summer, with carefree days and nights with fireflies! I loved this post, as I always do. I treasure the idea of food or pillow fights, the only fights I hope that those dear little ones ever have to experience! Smiles, Robin

That’s one reason why it’s so good to spend time with children now and then, even if it’s not part of your everyday experience. It helps remind you to live in the moment. 🙂

1. Today, I’d really love for the kid in me to take the lead. I’m going to read to Grace’s class. Think that’ll do it?
2. The kids in your class – they’re so lucky.
3. I always will remember the teachers my girls have had who they didn’t want to leave. Even on the last day of school. Even with summer before them. I have a feeling you’re that kind of teacher.
