went for a farmer’s market visit
saw all the stuff they grew
kinders met the farmers
asked them questions
painted pumpkins
filled their bags
soap maker
vegetable growers
fruit lady
flower farmers
pumpkin man
beekeeper/honey maker
bakers
artists
fairy treasures
candy
one showed us
the special black dirt
he grows things in
it is like magic.
tomorrow we cook.

I love how many field trips, how many things you DO with your kindergarteners. So many new experiences for them.

Sounds like the kinders had a grand time at the farmer’s market. I loved going to one near us in Syracuse, New York.
Beth … I love Will Rogers’s quote. For a farmer to plop a seed in the ground in spring and expect a bountiful harvest at summer’s end … that is truly the definition of an optimist. ;-)

Our city has a large Farmer’s Market, and, strolling past the stalls, I feel like I’m taking part in a centuries-old tradition that many of my ancestors enjoyed.
