with
one sister visiting
one sister gone too soon
only brother on his way
grandchildren in tow
we visited the place
where we had grown up.
it looked much the same
yet felt somehow not.
much like us.

I hope it was a good visit. Despite it feeling somehow different. xox

It is good to have a single home to return to. Moving around makes that difficult.

I went back to visit my childhood home when I was in my twenties..For some reason, I cried that entire night.

We’ve ‘gone home’ Oddly I felt like a giant. Everything seemed smaller. I hope your trip home was wonderful.

Going back “home” (even if your people don’t live in the house any more) can stir all sorts of emotions. This is a lovely post. 💛

You know, since my parents are gone, it does feel different to go to the house. Hope you still had a nice time together!

Beautiful – and sad….. Can’t say I’d like to re-visit my childhood home, a pokey flat on the 1st floor of a loveless-built housing block – but the memories of a fairly unsensational but joyful childhood (mostly!), THAT I would revisit at any time! 🙂
As always, ALWAYS, a masterly crafted post about something ‘ordinary’ – hopefully with more positive than other memories staying with you. Thanks, also ‘as always’ 😉
