  1. I have a friend in Australia who suggested this charity to me when I asked about giving. LeggyPeggy’s suggestion is good too. The reason these charities are important is that the firefighters in Australia are volunteers. Some employers will cover their wages while they are gone, but most don’t. That means these folks haven’t had a paycheck for 2-3 months. These funds go directly to the people who need it most.
