when i was a little girl
one of my sisters used to bite her nails
when i’d look out the window
see the sliver of a moon
i thought that was her nail up there
wanting endlessly
to think of a way to get it back for her.

It does looks like a clipped nail.

Yeah- although that’s not exactly what my reaction was…🤯 Needles to say, I went full on Forensic Files and found the culprit.

The moon sliver always reminded me of something and I couldn’t put my finger on it 🙂

You’re welcome, Beth. Are you back to school teaching?

Our district is not back in person yet. Being a smaller school district, we follow what Los Angeles USD does. LAUSD is not reopen because LA still has many new cases and death.

many of our public districts are closed, some are reopening slowly, and we are a private school taking huge safety measures

LAUSD considers reopening with half a class on alternate days, and marks benches in the cafeteria and playground. Teacher union protested for reopening.

Aaawh, that’s SO sweet. Sadly HH is chewing his nails and it’s definitely not a pretty sight. One really has to love a person very deeply to put up with nail biting…..

This was so awesome. I love how your wanting to get the moon/fingernail back so deeply shows the relationship with her. Such a great poem.
