how sweet to find this book
sitting outside on the window ledge of a downtown store
on a sunny saturday
just waiting for someone
to pick it up and take it home to read.
gratitude to the book fairies.

it’s wonderful when books appear like this in public places, all be-ribboned, for someone to pick up and take home and ‘eat’: an Easter Egg for the mind 🙂

How nice! Our area has an unwritten convention of leaving them on our front garden walls for anyone to take. Some real gems appear!

Thanks to books, in my youth I had travelled a million miles before I ever left my neighborhood. Thank you for all the blessings from the book fairies!

same here, and yes to them!

Wow, I would never have thought of this – always donate books to a non-profit thrift store. But, with a few I have that are still in brand-new condition, I’m going to try this!

great! i’ve done this in the public parks before, left them on benches, but this welcomes people to take them as a gift, without feeling guilty )

I think i will be reincarnated as faerie…
““Fairies with gossamer wings,
Bring forth beauty, grace and joyful things.
Fairies of the earth are caretakers of our soil, water and trees,
They watch over beautiful creatures such as bears, bunnies and bees.
Fairies ask that you breathe in and appreciate the vantage point from which you stand,
Then trod carefully and respectfully with each intentional step you make across this beautiful land.”

A book needs no batteries. All it needs is some light and a curious person. Great find!

What a wonderful idea! I swamped my grandkids with beautiful hardcover books before they grew into electronic stuff. Progress that bypasses the joy of real books is not progress at all.

So beautiful. Before everything happened, I used to leave books around for people to find. It’s just lovely. Great post. X

thank you, and i did too. i’d leave them on park benches, and in tiny libraries in front of houses

The book fairies would have to put them in ziplock bags around here because our frequent rains want to turn everything into mush and mulch.
