that moment when you discover
your sandbox has turned into a frozen lake
you understand the difference between liquid and solid
and realize your toys are not going anywhere until spring.

Well, that is one way to learn patience. Hope the sun warms you soon!

Unless your mama says, “Get those toys out of the sandbox this instant!”
Then you will figure out a way to do it.
necessity is the mother of invention

Despite it being a mild 21’C, I am feeling frozen, by the situation in Europe, and my rubber Koala will never look the same .. here is a song from nearly “60 years ago” … I stand here “Frozen” in disbelief,
the same old saga !!

That would be winter. Real life. Right there in the sandbox. Great lesson in science and waiting with, ahem, patience.

Changes of state are undeniably instructive. What really inspired me as a kid was that meant it was hockey season.

I had sandboxes as a kid but that never happened. Of course, I was in Oklahoma.
As for frozen moments, that’s what photographers are for. Bless ’em all.

not unusual here, with the freeze, thaw patterns.

At least everyone can ice skate in the sandbox without worrying if the ice will hold!
