music is a moral law.

Standard

50+ years as a band

los lobos

came to town

blocked off the street

set up

for a free concert

on a sunny afternoon

first time for my grandson

everyone

loving

their unique brand

of rock, blues, country, and rhythm and blues

from the first chord

there was dancing in the street.

“music is a moral law.

it gives soul to the universe,

wings to the mind,

flight to the imagination,

and charm and gaiety to life and to everything.”

-plato

  1. Love this; and that Plato quote: bang on!
Experienced same yesterday. At 10pm open air film showing at our lake. Before, 2 bands 1hr each, great sounds, ppl chatting, dancing, laughing, having a drink and a bite or three…. boats on the lake, thankfully a breeze, grass and trees whispering, storm-broken stuff already ‘occupied’ by little creatures, ducklings rushing after their mother…. sounds ringing across spaces. A night of delight, and Plato was right!

  2. Always something for everybody.
A musical group may perform mainly one type of music, but you can be pretty sure they are talented and can play in many different styles.
Dress up a country band in tuxedos and put them on a fancy concert stage and you might hear them playing Mozart. ;)
