now, that’s a bread!
this swirling Milky Way of a five-braid challah is so mesmerizing on its own,
it’s hard to imagine how satisfying it must be to pull apart—let alone to actually eat.

“my grandmother always made challah for Shabbat and dropped it off at our house.
she said braided bread was a symbol of love because it’s like arms interlocking.”

My neighbor buys one for me every year and I eat the middle out of it each time. So delicious and brings good luck for the year. :) Beautiful photo and a happy and SWEET time. I decorated her table for her celebration and she had a fabulous time. :)

Fancy schmancy: I’ve never seen a pentagonal challah, much less one with spirals on it.
