Who needs a paper shredder? 🤣 It’s human nature to want to use a new tool when it comes along. I used to have one of those maps with about 4-5 different ones inside. The kids who had never seen one of those looked at me in awe, like I was a magician.
I remember so well how all of my three children loved cutting things out and gluing them on paper or crafting something with them. I can only imagine the joy of the kids who used them for the first time.
A lot of things can happen when you start using scissors. Soon after 9/11 2001 my wife called me at work. She was very upset because our two-year-old daughter’s hair was falling off. She thought it might be the anthrax mailings that were happening at the time. I suggested she call the doctor who tried to diagnose it over the phone. Long story short, she found a pair of scissors in our four-year-old son’s room and hair on the floor. They had been playing barbers and he had cut off her hair and realizing he could get in trouble he put it back on her head, except it didn’t stay very well.
There were always ‘Good scissors’. :) My mum’s were her dressmaking scissors, and woe betide I used them for anything else.
Best wishes, Pete.

I tied a big pink ribbon on the “good” scissors and kept them in a drawer. ( didn’t always work).
