this is the kind of note that we sometimes see at arrival
pinned to a child’s school bag
giving us a heads up about how things are going so far.
i think adults should also be able to wear these as needed
in our lanyards or clipped to our clothing or bags
a simple statement of fact
a quiet warning
when we arrive somewhere
no questions need be asked
just a smile and a nod will do.

Definitely a good idea. Though when I was still working, my facial expression on such days usually served as a warning to avoid me. :)
Best wishes, Pete.

I love this idea, it reminds me of some shoes we bought recently for my son. The box was patterned with a small plain square with the words ‘this space is intentionally blank’ and I commented I could do with this as a tattoo ! Made me chuckle but also why ?!

What a truly brilliant idea! It certainly shows that a parent cares about the child and also about the person into whose care the child is going.

Such a great idea, especially for children as they would never think to say something. At least as adults we might say, Take it easy with me today, I had a bad start. One day, on the way to work I ran into a lot of bad traffic and was not in a good mood. My receptionist was extremely kind to me when I showed up. Apparently, my hubby had called ahead and warned everyone in the office that I would need some TLC.

Yes, adults should carry a label, too! It just might get a much needed smile and nod. Sometimes that’s all we need.

Oh, I’d love that… funny that this comes up now. After a week of really low-down, fever, bed-rest, dizziness, i got up yesterday to do some shopping: lots of vegs, fruits. Then, in the eve, a message of an older friend being downcast because of, well, life. I asked HH: Why don‘t we invite said person for lunch tomorrow Sunday. I didn‘t even know yet what I had planned. OK, done, asked and we got a YES please. Friend came, I cooked, baked, we had said meal, drinks, a walk at the little lake, bringing her back home again (1h each) – and i felt really cranky. Said to HH: you know, not being totally well, really gave me a short nerve string for patience….. Had i been able to have said label tucked to my clothes, our invitee might not have done all the wrong ‚jokes‘ (so not funny – BUT YOU KNOW ME! Yes, sadly, we do) – although, who knows. Felt better having read your post, should have smiled more….

What a clever idea for both kids and adults. Do you usually learn why the child is having a bad day? I would think that might emerge.
LikeLiked by 1 person
Yes, we sit down and talk to them to ask how their day is going. Sometimes they are fine now that they are at school, but other times they will say they are tired, didn’t want to eat, could not do something they wanted to do, someone in the family was mad at them, or they didn’t feel like going to school. We talk through it and talk about how we all have hard days or uncomfortable emotions, and come up with a way to tuen them into comfortable emotions when they are ready. Sometimes they just want to sit by themselves for a few minutes or have someone give them a hug or they don’t even remember why they were feeling bad. All this is just like an adult’s experience, but they don’t yet have the tools intuitively to solve their issues without support. Just mini humans trying to get through a day. ❤️

You could probably find a market for tee shirts with messages like this. It could be an interesting psychology experiment to see how each message affected your interactions with people.

Absolutely. We need t-shirts for different circumstances of varying degrees:
✅ didn’t have my coffee
✅ kid came back home for a few months
✅ had a flat tire this morning
or whatever lol
