DO NOT DISTURB. / TINY GRASS IS DREAMING.
while the image of blades of grass sleeping soundly is undeniably adorable,
the chinese public lawn sign posted near the grass was actually meant to read,
accurate translation:
GRASS IS RESTING. DO NOT DISTURB.
i personally prefer the first.

Even that the grass is resting, like nap time is a lovely thought, but I like to think it fell asleep and was dreaming, too.

That’s so cute. I thought at first that the rabbit’s name was “Grass” since rabbits eat grass, it seemed not too far fetched. But then I reread and understood about the sign. That too is cute. Have a great day!

Awwwww, this is so wonderful. Tiny grass is dreaming – I prefer the first version too, but they’re both marvelous and what a thing to come up with! Wow! Thanks for sharing, Beth!

I think if my lawn was dreaming, Beth, it would be of being part of center field at the baseball stadium instead of at my house!

I love this too and love the thought of grass dreaming of spring…like me. It’s funny because I just went out this morning to take a little walk in my sleeping, (dreaming) garden and I heard frogs..it’s in the low 50’s and felt like spring.
I also just read an article last week that you shouldn’t step on grass in the winter..especially when it is frozen or you will damage it…perhaps that’s what the sign met. The Japanese are very conscious of green growing things..especially moss, which I love too. They would be proud of me as my whole front lawn is moss. :)

Oh, that’s wonderful..is she using alternative ground covers or different kinds of plants? I’ve been an organic gardener, flower farmer for many years and I’m always so happy when I hear of people that are getting rid of their water guzzling turf lawns and replacing them with environmentally friendly plants.
I used to teach organic gardening classes at our local community college..so if you have any questions…fire away! :)

That’s music for my soul..tell her thank-you from a fellow tree hugger..lol. And from the mini wildlife that will be visiting her yard now. I sure would love to see photos..and yes, I would be happy to answer any of her gardening questions..that is, if I know the answers :)..Anytime..she could just e-mail me or even call, if she’d like.
Think Spring!
