now that the kayaks, the canoes, and the rafts
have left the river for the season
everything feels calm and slow and beautiful
in the meditative quiet
of the occasional fly-fishers.

I have never seen the attraction of fishing, but when I watch the solo fly-fishers on the local rivers, I am aware that it provides an escape for them, and they seem completely focused on their hobby.
Best wishes, Pete.

Funny enough, I’ve always lived near our Barwon River and Corio Bay but I’ve never been a fisherman …

This is one reason why I love fall. It’s the season of calm, of slowing down and easing out of summer. It’s a long sigh of relief.

Rivers are one of nature’s most beautiful creations..even in winter, you can still hear and see the water running beneath the ice. Is that a river there in Ann Arbor? What a beauty it is and the quote is perfect. Chris
