Kennedy, leaves behind nine surviving children, (2 others preceded her in death), 34 grandchildren and 24 great-great grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom love her dearly,” the family statement said.

*Robert Francis Kennedy, also known as RFK, was married to Ethel Kennedy, and was an American politician and lawyer. He served as the U.S. Attorney General  from 1961-1964, and as a U.S. senator from New York from January 1965 until his assassination in 1968, when he was running for the Democratic presidential nomination.

  1. Having 11 children would knock most people to their knees..I would say that was a Goliath accomplishment right there..not to even mention all the other amazing things she did to make this world a better place. Chris

  2. the passing of a matriarch. One wonders if there will ever be another. She led an a long, amazing life and was dedicated to bringing more social justice to the world (even before it was “cool”.
    so given all that, i wonder why you felt the need to include the piece about a husband. Why can’t a woman be recognized for herself and her accomplishment alone.
