the passing of a matriarch. One wonders if there will ever be another. She led an a long, amazing life and was dedicated to bringing more social justice to the world (even before it was “cool”.
so given all that, i wonder why you felt the need to include the piece about a husband. Why can’t a woman be recognized for herself and her accomplishment alone.

Wow, what a big family. I cannot imagine raising nine children. But being surrounded by so many kids, grandkids, and great-grandchildren is a beautiful thought.

Here in Massachusetts her death is news headlines. She was always revered for her spirit and service, especially the Special Olympics. I can’t imagine having so many children!
