one bottle a day?

Standard

the wine and egg diet from vogue magazine in the 70s

highly likely it was not written by anyone in the health field

maybe you have to stay drunk to get through it?

‘the second day of a diet is always easier than the first. by the second day you’re off it.

  1. I enjoy wine, and confess I have had days when a bottle has slipped down very nicely. But for breakfast? Even I cannot manage wine at breakfast! This must have been for those ‘super-skinny’ models who were so popular back then.
    Best wishes, Pete. 😊🍷

  2. I do remember quite a few diet fads, especially ones that involved hard boiled eggs, but I’ve never come across this one. Eggs AND a whole bottle of wine a day… Phew! At least it says on the top that it’s meant for three days. That’s perhaps just about survivable… Ah, the 70s…

  3. Oh my goodness. I believe my mom dabbled with this diet and it became a lifestyle. Just swap out the wine for beer…
And the quote from Jackie Gleason? Hilarious, Beth! Thanks for the morning giggles.😁

  4. I did not know whether I should laugh or cry… I can’t believe this was even an advice! It is now common knowledge that even one sip of alcohol (no matter what) is harmful. However, I love your statement beneath 😅

  5. I’m almost (almost…) tempted to try it ~ purely for research, you understand ~ given that it would “only” be for three days. I wonder if red wine would be allowed? Or champagne ~ which is, after all, a breakfast drink : )
