so great to take my daughter and granddaughter to a women’s basketball game
to see firsthand that all things are possible

And it looks like your team won! Women’s football, hockey, rugby, and cricket are all well supported here, and shown on TV. The stars are heroes, (or heroines if you prefer) and the sports fans in the country are rightfully proud of them.
Best wishes, Pete.

When I was a student at the other U of M, Beth, one of my beats at the campus newspaper was covering the women’s basketball team. They were one of the best in the nation, and helped me learn a lot about journalism and life. One of the players was the first to get a sports scholarship. I had many illuminating conversations with Jane Connolly about the changing times in sports and life.
I’m glad three generations of your family had the chance to experience how much women’s sports means to us all right now!

“Girl Power” … my local sporting club is the Bell Park Dragons, and for the past few years, we have been fielding “girls” football and “girls” cricket teams, from juniors through to seniors.

Yes, it’s so inspiring to see how women’s professional basketball has taken off in popularity – as all women’s sports should!
