A good children’s book is full of good drawings and good characters …

Books are my weakness! Especially children’s books. Picture books that encourage children to want to read.

One of the perks of my years spent working at the public library, Beth, were time spent in children’s storytimes and hearing my librarian colleagues read from these awesome books!

I say this regularly, but the power of a book to expand a young person’s imagination is one of the best things we can do for them. I was an avid reader early on, because the things I learned and dreamed…

Y’know, maybe my favorite activity ever was reading to my kids. The bonds we formed then are still very strong today.

Even though it’s been a good 20 years since I read a bedtime story to a kid of mine, I still miss the experience. Some of those children’s books end up finding a permanent place in your heart.

Great childrens literature is the cornerstone of our society, and yet we don’t encourage them enough.

I don’t know about the kids today, but I loved my books since I only had books, no tablet or Kindle. Thank God, also my kids grew up with books I read to them. We had a tradition that we read Christmas stories on each Advent Sunday. In the end, I was reading the same few stories since they loved them so much.

Children’s books are great and full of adventures.
When my kids were young I’d read them a story each night before bed time. Good memories 😉

I didn’t plan this at all . . . but I have a piece tomorrow that you might like Beth on why I’m reading children’s books instead of turning on the news or scrolling social media. Ha, ha, I guess good timing on my side. Ha, ha.

That quote by Peter H. Reynolds is spot on. I love children’s picture books and check them out from my library for myself, not necessarily to read to a child. I think some of the “leaders” in DC should read children’s picture books.

I love the an so to bed. Opens my the door to my imagination. Thank you! On another note I am working in a 4th grade class. It is challenging yet rewarding as we have threat moments. They have a low work ethic and I struggle with how to help them. I always enjoy your stories of teaching. I was just wondering.
