Saline tween turns rocks into college fund:
Eleven-year-old Tucker Lambert hopes money earned from his startup – he digs rocks out of neighboring farm fields and sells them to landscapers – will pay for him to attend the University of Michigan, M-Live reports.
The rocks, if left in the ground, would damage farm equipment, so Tucker digs them out and sells them from $1 to $50 depending on the size.
Customers can buy the rocks by setting up an appointment with his father. If you don’t need any rocks, you are welcome to contribute to his GoFundMe campaign here.

Tucker’s Rocks est. 2024 Rocks, Stones Boulders, Landscaping Rocks
From Dad:
My 11 year old son has collected rocks for 2 years now. Tucker is a very busy young man. He collects the rocks from local farmers’ fields. He sells these to save money for his future college fund.
Tucker does all this with one four wheeler and one wagon. He digs the rocks out with a shovel. He is a small operation, located in Saline, Michigan.

A young entrepreneur. Hard working, creative, and persistent. U of M would be lucky to have him.

Love this. Entrepreneurial skills only a few kids practice these days. A brother and sister in our neighborhood mow lawns for college. They’re old enough to drive now, but for a long time they used a wagon they made themselves that hitched to their bikes, and pedaled to all our houses. Come to think of it, I’ve never seen either with them with a cell phone. Not a priority, I guess…

I love that! I had a kid in my neighborhood who came to my door and offered to mow, rake and shovel my yard to earn money for his high school sports. he did a great job, was very reliable and was a really nice kid. I got two of my neighbors to hire him as well.

I am literally chuckling out loud at this post – not at the very awesome entrepreneurial kid – but because I have a big heart shaped rock T found a few weeks ago that sits on our kitchen table where I work from home at. And I’m not quietly appraising it in my head and thinking how much I can sell it for. 😂 Jokes aside, it’s priceless to me but the thought did momentarily cross my mind! What a smart venture for this impressive young person!

What a brilliant idea. And what a worthy goal. Love the quote. Truly, an education, once acquired, is something no one can ever take from you.

Tucker may not need college if he grows his contracting business big enough in the next 7 years.

An uplifting story. The best part is that the boy has stuck with it for two years. If I were a manager, he is exactly the kind of person I would want to hire.

I so agree, and I love that he digs them out with just a shovel and uses his wagon and a 4-wheeler. very low key operation. and he knows the farmers want them out and the contractors want to buy them. so smart.
