yesterday a stranger
came up to me in a store
to offer a few kind words
surprising me and making my day
the power of words never fails to amaze me.

I cannot agree more. Ever since one person came up to me and offered me kind words in a compliment, I do the same. I am still basking in that one and it’s been twenty years!

Kindness is as under rated (unfortunately) as it is important. Moreover, it takes very little effort, and it’s utterly free. You’d think the world would be overflowing with it. 🙄
Thanks for this lovely post, Beth. Hugs. 🤗

Oh, Beth, I needed to read your words this morning. Kind words can uplift and I am so glad you were the recipient of a stranger’s kindness.
At the grocery store the other day, I saw a man with the word “harmony” tattooed on one arm and an image of an old-style microphone on the other arm. I told him I liked his tattoos. His daughter is named Harmony. And he’s a musician. I told him to keep creating. He smiled and thanked me. His appreciative response was a kindness to me also.

Beautiful. A smile, a kind word, a compliment. Costs nothing, achieves so much.

Words have the power to hurt or heal. I always used to tell my students that the old saying about sticks and stones was nonsense.
