lights shining.

Standard
Ann Arbor vigil last night
second one
in a very short time
 people came together
in the bitter cold
gathering in community
sharing poetry, music, art
sad, angry, defiant, strong
still with lights shining
in remembrance of Alex Pretti,
VA nurse killed in Minnesota.
‘we do not exist for ourselves.’

  1. Thanks Beth for continuing to fight the good fight. I do admittedly feel like your country is turning into a shitshow (apologies, no disrespect intended towards good people like you) – but seeing folks like you brave the cold to keep the memory and truth of a good man alive and resisting the horrendous actions of the current administration gives me hope. 💕🙏

  2. From the bottom of my Minnesota heart, thank you, good people of Ann Arbor for supporting Minnesota and for honoring Alex Pretti during your vigil. Thank you, Beth, for continuing to shine the light. And thank you to all your readers for the many caring and thoughtful comments posted here. We in Minnesota are exhausted, but determined. We appreciate the love and support shown to us from around the country and world.

  3. It is wonderful that you and so many are joining this remembrance despite the weather. There are way more good and reasonable people in your country, just the wrong ones on top.
