dolly from holly.

Standard

Michigan State Police troopers were called to a home in Holly Township after a miniature donkey named “Dolly Parton” wandered away from her pasture Tuesday night.

Police said the donkey escaped through an open gate, prompting Metro North troopers to respond and help residents search the area.

Troopers canvassed the neighborhood and later located Dolly walking along a roadway in the township. She was returned to her owners unharmed.

“Troopers assigned to northern Oakland County often find themselves dispatched to locate missing animals in the area,” said F/Lt. Mike Shaw. “We have located Potato the lost dog, cows along I-75 and now Dolly the miniature donkey. When you join the Michigan State Police, you just don’t know where the day will take you!”

  1. Oh my goodness. So happy to read about this happy ending. The news has been full of reports of animals lost in big snowstorms and/or epic cold and the rescue tales (tails?) are a bright spot, for sure. xo! 💝

    • I feel like my connections might be a bit more obscure based on my likes (mini animals and kind humans,) and my previous address, except for the state trooper, who I worked with many years ago when I was a cocktail waitress in a hotel bar and in school to be something else and he was a security guy in the hotel bar going to school to be something else. (he married my friend, a fellow cocktail waitress, after she married our bartender, but was really in love with him, the security guy), then she divorced the bartender, and she married the one she was in love with after all, and bam, here we are connected again years later over the infamous dolly in holly story. lookout Kevin, you have competition!
