waking up on little glen lake
on a recent visit up north
the lake still snow covered, the sun came up
sand dunes across the lake
sat waiting for summer climbs
going down the road into town
walking to the end of the street
snow still piled high
making its own dunes
soft sand below, skies gray above
great lake michigan
sat waiting for summer swimmers

Best wishes, Pete.

I do like snow but ready to be done, it still lingers in the north where I was visiting last week, after their huge storm

That is a beautiful sunrise!
Snows all gone and melted over here thankfully. But wet rainy stormy day.

They just had had that monster snowstorm so amazing they are somewhat back to normal- very resilient up there

And if we get an inch, we grind to a halt 🙃 but we rarely do these, only further up north!

funny, my old boss moved to Michigan and when I said I was going up north, he asked, ‘you are up north already aren’t you?’ nope in michigan, we still have to drive further north to be ‘up north.’ )

How many snowflakes are there in a ‘snow dune’ ??
How many grains of sand are there in a ‘sand dune ??

As my pre k class would say ‘this many’ and open their arms as wide as they could go – infinity

There’s something beautiful about pieces of two seasons sitting in the same space. Not beautiful enough for me to want to experience it often🤣 but very lovely in your photo.

It was about a week after their historic blizzard and life had pretty much returned to normal, amazingly, they are so resilient

We’re in South Dakota this week. It was over 80 yesterday, but they’re expecting snow on Wednesday and Thursday. Crazy how quickly things can change.
