dreaming of the summer garden, and creatures great and small

with yet another day of below zero temps and flying snow, i have warm memories of baby v and lewis the cat, as they crossed paths last summer at my favorite garden store, just a beautiful walk away from the cottage.

i’m just going to stop over for a minute and tell lewis something.

okay, we are good.

lewis is a well-respected and incredibly tolerant employee. and a very good listener.

What good is the warmth of summer, without the cold of winter to give it sweetness. ~John Steinbeck

  1. The cat on the seat picture is my favourite,
isn’t it lovely how children and animals bond
like that 🙂 A really cute photograph 🙂

    Sorry I haven’t been around much, I have a
horrible flu virus keeping me away from our
blogosphere at the moment but I will bounce
    back, eventually 🙂

Have a lovely start to your Tuesday
and keep nic and warm my dear friend 🙂

  2. Wow he’s been on a long time. I hate to say it, but does Lewis know that they aren’t planning to let him retire…ever? A great reason to go to the store, whether you need to or not!

  3. I can only imagine how thrilled Baby V was to spot Lewis. I’m a bit like that myself. Almost every garden centre I go to takes extra long because I must love up every critter I meet. I worked at a garden centre for 2 seasons and they had several cats and a wonderful dog named ‘Winston’, they sure made all the hard work must more pleasant.
