this was sent to me
by
my sister
and
i could
identify
with
every word
for it’s
an
approach
to life
that i share
with the small boy
in the words above
and then
there was
the orange sticky note
that
she attached
to it
and i
saw
this
as
a
wonderful
compliment
and
a
precious
gift
for
it shows
that
she truly
knows
who i am.
Very sweet

It’s not adults don’t play because they haven’t time – it’s because they have forgotten how to play and how to use the most powerful tool of all – their imagination. You have a marvelous sister.

It’s a great Chesterton quote, but it also makes me wonder if he ever was around a bored kid.

That is exactly how I imagine you. Your posts always have that feel about them – as if you’ve discovered riches through the eyes of that same child. It’s a wonderful compliment from your sister. Wonderful, too, that you still have that gift. I can see the steam rising and hear the whistle glowing from here.

Such a fun filled post and you definitely are special, Beth. An inconvenience is never one, from the eyes of children and the ones who see life’s opportunities and seize them!

this is a great format…so I can add that my sisters were sad the day I got born! and it would be sorta hard for anybody to read this part, right? because with my luck, somebody might wise-crack that those two might have been on to something? not having a really great winter here in the land of wrestling clubs and pizza huts.

Yep, this is me, too. Not just waiting for the train, but watching people do things while I wait–my mechanic doesn’t even flinch when I hang around to watch him unbolt things from beneath my truck and reattach or replace other things. I told him long ago that I’m not trying to supervise–I’m just easily entertained. I’d follow the waitress into the kitchen to watch the cooks fix my meal if I could.
