i saw this incredibly moving canadian film the other day
‘monsieur lazhar’
released a few years back
nominated for a
foreign film academy award
it was
about a teacher
and
the
humanity
of
love
joy
loss
grief
pain
guilt
anger
connection
forgiveness
strength
acceptance
and
finally,
hope.
amazing
how one person
can come into another’s life
and
lead them
on a road
towards healing
by
beginning to
heal themselves.
after i watched the final scene
i sat in silence
for a long time after.

I will look for that movie, Beth. And thank you for the quote — it’s particularly comforting for me, facing open heart surgery in September.

This film has made my list – not that that’s anything remarkable but, you have provided a great calling card for seeing the film. TX

Thank you for the reminder that open hearts heal themselves and the hearts of others, and in doing so help to heal the world.

Open hearts are so warm and welcoming! I love your words about the film, along with such a great quote by H. Murakami. ❤

There is so much need for love, understanding and tolerance. I hope films and books say it over and over again. It may help. Love.
