Excellent quote! We have two playgrounds right to our patio. There are the occasional parents with their kids. But only EVER one family at any time…. Can’t wait to see them again in hoards.
Taking my daughter to the swings was one of my favourite daddy/daughter activities and probably the most difficult thing I’ve had to give up. Which also makes me realise I’m probably very lucky compared to a lot of people. Still I always get a little more melancholic when I walk past the empty playground on the way to the shop.
Our world has shrunk to the size of our living space and neighborhood. Our park is closed, although people tear down the police tape and go there anyway.
Perhaps the playgrounds are enjoying their “spring break” from the nonstop action, although it always seems that every playground comes alive with the energy and joy of children!
I think, at my age, the phrase “this too shall pass” is most appropriate. My thoughts are with the young parents and others who are feeling stressed and what that might mean for families who don’t have a playground release.

I’ve always had patience, and boy, am I grateful—my older sister, not so much.

I admit, I am a little impatient to see and hear children laughing and playing in the playgrounds…

The municipalities will give them a good cleaning and tell all when the kiddies can go back, Beth, for sure.

It’s very quiet around here without the children, I really miss them.

mine has as well, some things that used to bother me, just don’t anymore

Funny how that works. I am rather glad of it. A lot less exhausting to be patient then to get into an uproar over every little thing!

We should all wait with the patience of a child’s slide.

I’ve thought about this many times as I’m out and about on my daily walk, passing by closed schools.

It’s very surreal and unprecedented and I’m not sure if we’ll be able to return to the same “normal.” Hope you are doing okay, Beth…

In Utah, they are suspending school for the rest of the year. I don’t know about elsewhere. This made me think of this.
