It is good to draw/make/create a line with a group. Cooperation/exploration – together. Safety in numbers etc.
But there comes a time when each must veer off the line and find/imagine a line/dreams of our own.
(The reason we/I love your posts so much is because they make us think. And some of us just write the first thing that pops into our mind.)

I wonder where you’d end up if you followed the line; like that hole I used to dig in the backyard as a kid, my mum used to say, if you keep on digging, you’ll get all the way to China 🙂
