it actually was a cheese stick and club crackers, which do sort of resemble shortbread. my Irish/scottish grandmother made wonderful, wonderful shortbread

Sometimes at night I accidentally leave some snack crumbs by the computer. When I return in the AM, I could swear my mouse has been at them.
