I bet the owner got home and Mom said “hey, where’s your other boot?” And the child said innocently, “I don’t know….” because they have already moved on with life!
well, it was my class, so we went back and found it, even though the kinder didn’t care and just walked on in her sock. we thought mom might care though so we suctioned it out of the mud and mom just had a good laugh.
Oops! A messy situation

We had a 100’F Autumn scorcher … the ground cracks are wide enough to lose your shoe …
“Cracks and Holes”
There are cracks in the internet
Is there a hole in the alphabet?
There are cracks in the ground
Is there a hole in the Pound?
There are cracks in my skin
Is there a hole in the garbage bin?
There are cracks in the skyline
Is there a hole in my shrine?
There is a crack in my Mind
Is the world a hole in decline?

I see an invitation to climb into that boot and go deep. Deep down into a hole in the ground where I would find Alice and who knows what else.

I do recall once when I stepped into mud and while the foot came back from the experience, the shoe did not. Who knew it was THAT deep?

Funny. When I was a kid that happened to me all the time, then it didn’t any more. I wonder if I learned a little something along the way or what…
