Just asking, is it your first passport? I know, although having a passport is completely normal to us from childhood on, many US citizens never get one.
Mine expired in 2016, and I have not renewed it as yet. I have no intention of travelling outside the country in the foreseeable future. 🙂
Best wishes, Pete.
Love the quote….I created a travel show once, with the idea of showcasing all of the fun aspects of traveling the world…when I did it, 85% of American did NOT have a passport, and I dont’ know that the number has gotten too much better…sadly, too many people are afraid of the language, the food, the money, the customs, and worst of all THE PEOPLE.
LoL!!! I just got my renewal yesterday! I doubt if I’ll need another (good ’til I’m 78). When I signed up on-line the site said 6-8 wks. I got mine at 11wks 1 d. Just happy to have it!
I love that, Beth. When I got my first passport I was headed for China. A friend who was also going to teach in China gave me a poem called “The Passport Photo” — It was great and evocative of unknown places and new adventures, but I haven’t been able to find it online. I hope you will write about them!
Although Costa Rica is one of the smallest in the world in terms of area, it is one of the countries with the greatest biological diversity, with about 5% of all the world’s species – enjoy the trip. 🙂
Honesty, I am most excited about the library card. We need passports just about for going anywhere, so it’s no luxury but a bate necessity. I was however excited to get my new pp when I married HH and went to live in UK.

Dude! Duuuuuude that is so weird! I was just talking about the process and how it took foreverrrrrrr to get it. Foreverrrr Months!. So I’m glad you got yours and are ready to go anywhere 🙂 High five to you 🙂
The world is now your oyster. Get out there and shuck it!

it suddenly dawned on me in February that I should renew if I wanted to travel this summer but didn’t take too long to get it back

My experience is timely returns on renewals. I’m okay with that.
