national park of american samoa
–Got plans for today? If not, you might consider heading to a national park in honor of the three-year anniversary of the Great American Outdoors Act, a bipartisan law that helps protect, improve, and sustain our public lands, as well as Bureau of Indian Education-funded schools. The U.S. Department of Interior is waiving entrance fees for all of the federal land it manages to mark the anniversary, making Friday the perfect time to visit one of America’s national parks or wildlife refuges. Find a park near you.

Clearing my calendar to begin the tour! Even if I can’t visit in person, I can make a commitment to visit a national park website every other day or so.
I will be clearing my browser of all those news websites I spend hours reading every day. :(

That’s a worthy incentive to get people into the great outdoors.

That is a wonderful thing. What would Mr. Roosevelt think of today, I wonder…

It should be a law to respect and look after our natural resources.

If I’d known about this a few weeks ago, I’d have scheduled something other than gutter cleaning!

Saw it on noon news just now. They really need to publicize it at least a few days in advance.

What a great quote. If only more people respected natural resources.

Bear and I celebrated in a small way at a national refuge, not the Sand Dunes. I don’t see us there during summer’s heat and tourist season. But what a wonderful place it is, especially in October!

We live in the Shenandoah Valley and work sometimes at Wolf Trap, the only national park dedicated to music.
