I still hope to see a mermaid at the beach :) there are a few magical tales about mermaids one by an American short story writer still writing whose name escapes me :(
When I did a Google search for your quotation I got very few hits. Even a Google book search for “rainbows and mermaids” didn’t turn up many hits. From that I conclude that the thought is probably pretty recent.
I wish I had seen a mermaid in the water. Perhaps I need to open my mind to the possibility, and look again. :)
Best wishes, Pete.

I’ve got it, The mermaid connection. The story is ‘Mermaid Fever’ and it’s by Steven Millhauser who has a new collection just out called ‘Disruptions’

It’s our made up story where we take turns in continuing with each others input. Turned out much crazier than we had imagined! 😆

Mermaids are like Unicorns…they exist in our mind for all the right reasons…the power of imagination!

I’ve never seen a mermaid, but then, I’m very rarely in their natural habitat. Rainbows, on the other hand …

I’ve even seen a mermaid in the clouds! I’m glad that sometimes I’m still just a kid. 💙

My 3-year-old grandkid loves mermaid of everything. One time in the library, she didn’t want to leave until she got a mermaid book to check out.
