“the children are always ours, every single one of them, all over the globe;

and i’m beginning to suspect that whoever is incapable of recognizing this

may be incapable of morality.”

  1. If children just didn’t have to grow up. But thank goodness many still retain the wonderful things of childhood they learned in kindergarten. Sharing and respectfulness to name two. And that leads to hope.

  2. Children represent hope snd optimism, even for those of us who have never had them. They are creative and not yet indoctrinated with cultural garbage, in theory, but this is hard to generalize, because every child is different.

    Adults can set examples that will lead to responsible socialization, but for children to be used as weapons to fight adult battles helps no one.

  3. 💔 I’m heartbroken
    We have seen in our family how corrupted the souls of young adopted children were already by the time they were adopted. Ages 1 1/2 and 2 1/2yrs old. Not even the loving (new) parents could instil our values in them to devastating results in both cases. Seeing this and knowing that for these children chance for a (even halfway), normal life is literally nil, really, really makes my own heart heavy with sadness and tears.

  4. This is timely. Baldwin saw deep.
    And I think it was Bashō who said:

    “For those who proclaim
    they’ve grown weary of children,
    there are no flowers”

    All children are our children. It’s our duty to protect them

    Thanks, Beth.

  5. If only people all over the globe did recognize this..what a different world we would be living in. A much better one for sure. Is this is reference to something specific that has just happened in regard to the terrible war raging right now or is this just in general? I have been away for a little awhile and not watching the news..for several reasons. :(
