always enjoyed bob marley
the new biopic musical film about him
was a bit disjointed
but
leads were very good
his message stood strong
music was a great bonus
especially loved the real footage at the end.

This film has been well received over here, though not really my thing. ‘Disjointed’ sounds like a fair comment.
Best wishes, Pete.

I think many people have loved the movie, and I did love hearing the music, but perhaps I was expecting more of a doc or concert movie

am a great Bob Marley fan; saw the clips from this; was not impressed; still, if it brings him alive to others it’s a good thing —

yes, I guess it was not as I expected, but at least, as you said, it brings him alive for those who don’t know him

I saw an interview with the actor portraying him on a morning show. He listened to many recordings of Marley talking to learn how to talk like him. A wig like Bob Marley was made for the actor. I want to see the movie too.

I thought so too, from the bits I saw on a morning show.

Appreciating his music and his legend for so long, Beth, I’m looking forward to seeing his biopic. Thanks for your always-honest reviews!

I think you’ll enjoy it, especially the acting and music, as a former music writer, and I await your review as a former movie writer. many people loved it

I’d not heard of the film, but if all I had of Marley was his official video for Three Little Birds, it would be enough.

yes, it’s such a good song

I admit I had never heard of Bob Marley. But then we can’t be aware of every performer and should not be ashamed (and I’m not) to admit it. A commenter mentioned Three Little Birds so I listened to that one and found it delightful. Found several videos of the same song. :)

nice! no, it’s impossible to know them all, that’s what is so fun that people share music and musicians

Waiting in Vain..one of my all time favorite songs..I love Annie Lenox rendition of it too. Did the movie have much real footage or just a little in the end?

just at the end, I may have expected it to be more in the style of a doc, because many people loved it

I suspected something might be off with it when I saw the trailer. buT I’m glad it wasn’t all bad.

I’ve read mixed reviews. I’m a bit spoilt having seen Marley in concert at the Apollo in 1979. Would I be disappointed?

i’m pretty sure you might be, but there are some good things about it, certainly

Thank you. I’ll consider it. I remember I wasn’t a big Queen fan, and a bit dubious when we went to see the movie, and I was conquered. 🙏🏻
