Made me smile. Know many works by Paul Klee but never ‚saw‘ this combo – when you link the quote to his drawing, it makes perfect sense. If not, none! :)

it made it clear to me too, at last

There are two pictures on the wall of my eye doctor’s reception room. An impression of a vase of flowers and a realistic view of a roman villa with many marble looking columns.
You have to look somewhere – besides staring at the other patients – so I really understand this quote. Every six months for years I have explored those pics and made up stories. lol

I had a painting at the blood clinic like that; I looked and looked at it but it gave nothing back

My goodness, the quote is perfect and the art is exactly what he said. Klee is one of the five ‘forbidden artists’ that changed Eric Carle’s life when he was in Nazi Germany. Shortly before Carle died, he had an exhibition of his art that was a tribute to Klee. I was lucky enough to see it. Thank you for the post today, Beth.

I like the idea of art being a holiday. I so agree, it should take the person to spheres away from their daily routines – may it be painting, music, or whatever!
