We used to call May 1st Day of Workers or Labourers. And ONLY them had the day off. We, the desk ‘occupiers’, had to go to our jobs.
Enjoy – I know we do ! Sleeping in. Reading in bed, having a brunch. HH will do the taxes, maybe a walk along the lake….

Wow, that reminds me: growing up with large parades for the “proletariat” on May 1st, red carnations, GDR & Soviet flags, praising our leaders… yikes! Thanks for bringing back those “interesting” memories 😉

Happy May Day. This reminded me of the tradition of leaving a small bouquet of flowers on someone’s doorstep, ringing the bell and running away.

A Maypole! Every year, kids from our primary school perform Maypole dances and their May Queen is crowned!
