Just opened Jetpack now and this came up first. Made me nearly cry. Such simple joys, such simple chance meetings which develop sometimes into something beautiful. That’s the best!

I’m so glad and I’m always fascinated how one child is quite naturally drawn to another, and often stay friends for years

All the friends I’ve made have come about by a chance encounter. My longest friendship is someone I met on a campsite in Holland nearly 40 years ago. We were both traveling, gave our respective parent’s home addresses as a place to write to and are still messaging, though not so regularly, now.

Some would say that all is preordained. I don’t spend much time thinking about it but accept both choice and chance. (and HOPE fits in there somewhere)
I am sure your followers are glad they have met you, Beth, by whatever means.

That happened to me on my first day at senior school. None of my existing friends went to the same senior school as me, so I met a completely new group of classmates when I was 11. Three of those are still my longest and closest friends, 61 years later.
Best wishes, Pete.

This is so true. When I think I have two friends from grade 2… still friends today. Too bad they both live on the other side of the country. Sigh.

This is so true. Every friend I’ve had was a stranger until we happened to meet, one way or another.
