The colours of southern Europe are always a joy. England is drab by comparison.

Fab pics Beth. Although it is my closest neighbouring country, I have never been to Portugal, but I can see that our towns are very similar to theirs, especially the more southern ones where the buganvilias blossom so beautifully. It is the same here in the Aegean coast of both Turkey and Greece with those beautiful flowers.

The flowers and colors remind me of Greece, where coastal architecture, sun-loving plants, like bougainvillea flourished. I returned many years ago with lots of Greek pottery, and small, rounded stones from Greek beaches, back when it was easier to travel with heavy luggage.

Nice – I know, I’m trying to choose small things. I’d love to visit Greece someday

Do pack light. I brouught lots of camned food home from my trips abroad. Lots of canned pate and exotic spices, like yerba mate from South America. Now I do well to get to the grocery store with all the flooded streets, of late.
