Jimmy Carter served as the 39th President of the United States from 1977 to 1981. He was awarded the 2002 Nobel Peace Prize for work to find peaceful solutions to international conflicts, to advance democracy and human rights, and to promote economic and social development.

  1. The first thing to strike me was the writing of his name. Never realised (but to be fair, it wasn‘t ever of importance for me to know).
    He seems to have been one of the ‚good ones‘ – happy birthday mr ex-president! you were very right with your quote. sadly, not everyone has taken note of your wisdom.

  2. Living to 100 is still an outstanding achievement, and one I very much doubt I will achieve. He seems to have managed to stay popular since his presidency, and do some good works in retirement.

  3. I remember his work with Habitat for Humanity after he was no longer President. He had a good heart and tried to do his best by the American people.

  4. I was in single digits when he was president. He didn’t sound like a politician. The kids I hung with seemed to parrot their parents. Wonder what would happen if he were president today. That aside, happy 100!
