Reminds me of my childhood, when everyone wore their best clothes at weekends. (My grandfather used to wear a shirt and tie when digging his garden!)
Best wishes, Pete.

Pete, that’s kind of cute, isn‘t it? But in my childhood too, Sundays were for ‚best dress, clean unblemished shoes,‘ and best behaviour!

I suspect the stadiums were cleaner back then. There’s no way I would wear my best clothes to a sports stadium now.

Oh my goodness! I never thought about football fashion for women way back then. What a pic…and the quote from Wang? Gah. If that’s true, no one should see me now. 😜

Heels, a dress, gloves and pearls…seems totally appropriate for a football game, Beth. Or not! It’s always interesting how fashion changes and how we utilize it for social or sporting events.

It definitely feels like a different era for people to be dressed up on their days off. I’m all about the sweats and crocs now. 😆

Comfort rules for me

Wow! At least one adult female was smart enough to wear flats and not heels! I think that might be far less comfortable than the wool band uniform to sweat beneath!

Times have certainly changed. Nowadays, it’s ratty jeans and ink. I’m okay with both eras.

That’s very much like I remember my mom looking … almost all the time, no matter the occasion. Imagine clambering up and down stadium steps in those heels!

I just finished watching an Italian limited series on Netflix called “Deceitful Love” (fabulous!) and I couldn’t help think that I wish people made more of an effort in their dress. Maybe not heels and skirts for a ball game but still. :)
We have all (most of us) chosen comfort in casual.

I get that, but at a game it’s probably not quite the best plan )

Those were the days when people dressed up for just about anything. Women dressed like that to go to the store, for heaven’s sake…

When I was in my teens, we had a minor league hockey team that played in our town. My girlfriends and I would get all dressed up — heels and all! — to go to their games. Looking back, it just might have been on the off chance that we’d meet one of the players…

I refuse to believe that anyone dressed in high heels and a fur is an actual football fan!

What a flashback. Stockings and heels, never pants. I was not allowed to wear pants through college. The only jeans were for farmers, sold at Sears. My first football game was watching the Baltimore Colts. Johnny Unitas was playing. I remember the beautiful pale blue suede coat I wore to the game, albeit the end of the era of dressing up for football games. My mother would probably not approve of how I dress today. Thanks for the memories, Beth.

I love older styles as a teenager! I think there was an emphasis on dressing nice everywhere due to the new commodities’ being introduced to the public after ww2.
