stored honey.

Standard

in a big old blue house near me by the river

one of my very first kindergarten students

from way back when

now grown

shares a creative studio

with other local artists

open for an art gallery gathering

so lovely to see their work

to see the artist my former student had become

only a matter of time

his creative eye and natural talent

’twas apparent way back when.

‘art is the stored honey of the human soul.’

  1. I often wonder about my first students. Some were barely 10 years younger. I taught 5th grade.

My daughter was in 2nd grade where I taught 2nd grade but in another class. So I have seen her classmates grow. And I am so proud of my daughter with her degree in computer science. (little sassy rascal)

    • that’s it, exactly. and I’ve stayed friends with his family over the years, love his mom, and watched each of the 3 sons, all find their way over time, even with many challenges, big and small, and each in their own way.
