‘with theatre, you have to be ready for anything.’ – willem dafoe

Standard

another week and yet another fun grandie experience

this time it was grandie j’s turn

 who loves the performing arts

a natural actor who loves to entertain

always ready to pitch in

and do what needs doing

to bring a show to life.

 in his school play,

beetlejuice jr., the musical

he played a bettlejuice clone

was also a mover, helping with props and stage setup

what a colorful and lively show

the actors truly seemed to have as much fun as the audience.

bravo, j!

so glad to see you doing what you love.

‘the world is a complicated place, and there’s a lot of division between people.

the performing arts tend to unify people in a way nothing else does.’

  1. I love live theatre …
“Art doesn’t give rise to anything in us that isn’t already there. It simply stirs our curious consciousness and sparks a fire that illuminates who we have always wanted to be.”

  2. I had a small part in a senior high school play years ago. I still remember the fun and excitement. My junior year I (with other girls) were ushers seating all those coming to see the production. We got to wear formal dresses and a corsage. It was just as exciting as being in the play.

  3. My son was in several school and community musicals as a preteen. My grandaughter was very active in a community theater, doing everything a person can do — on stage, backstage, helping those younger and less experienced. She’s in college now and hasn’t time for it, but hopes to work at our community theater this summer. (I must confess that while I’m supportive, I don’t really care for theater/musicals.)

  4. I think the more we can find ways to connect withg our fellow man, the more we’ll advance as a society.

It’s great that your grandchildren are so involved in different extracurricular passions.
