wise confetti.

Standard

It’s clear from this photo that the opening weekend to Venice’s Carnival was quite the celebration, with heaps of confetti in the air and crowds gathered along the city’s famed canals to watch a procession down the waterways. But what you can’t tell from the images alone is that this year, all the confetti and streamers are fully biodegradable, a sustainable twist on the centuries-old festival.

  1. I wholeheartedly agree with their wonderfully wholesome and wise ways, Beth

  2. Thanks for sharing that, love it. Also, the city celebrates while still struggling with rising sea water and overcrowding…I have been to the city when you walked on planks above the streets and it happens with such regularity that the future looks very wet indeed

  3. I am so glad you said this about the biodegradable confetti. When I saw the photo I thought less of the fun but more of the pollution… lol. Over here is carnival season too – hopefully with similar confetti!

  4. I‘m definitely not a fan of this. I‘m even appalled by the messing up nature, water, everything. They can‘t be biodegradable enough….
But I like the idea. Somebody was, for a change, thinking seriously about the impact this all has.
And I thought seriously that this MUST have been a painting…. a fine one I‘d say too. I‘d probably hang that up a wall!
