on pi day, try a slice of your favorite pie
pickle and peanut butter pie with yogurt?
cool ranch Dorito and onion pie?
—
pies on pi day
from random cookbooks
don’t think either will be too popular
maybe find a third option.
pi is math
pie is food
celebrate wisely.

I have to admit, this is not my taste. I don’t like anything with peanuts 🥜. But you enjoy it 😘😀

both sound horrible to me also, those were posted as funny examples of pies I would not eat, , but I am a fan of fresh fruit pies instead –

These sound like pies dreamed up by pregnant women with certain cravings

I’m more of a traditionalist, Beth. Maybe a small slice of key lime?

same, they don’t appeal to me at all. love key lime, but my faves are simple fruit pies

These combinations sound a bit risky to me. I’m for old fashioned apple pie 🥧

The quote is amusing. My son is doing a presentation for the math’s department of his university for Pi day.

how great! and I loved the quote as well, she sounded a lot like me, I still love pie and true crime )

Two great things. I’m reading a ‘true crime’ book although it’s a bit different because it’s about the witch trials in the UK in 1612. Of course, the poor accused who were put to death, were all innocent people. A terrible and crazy time.

oh, so awful and that really was a crime by the prosecutors and the same with our American ones

I like a very tart cherry pie or pecan or key lime. I rarely have pie. But then I rarely have dessert at all.

I would definitely try those pies. My husband’s family is partial to Cottage Cheese Pie which is a lot like a custard pie. I would bake one except for the price of eggs (@ $6 here in my community). I have baked this pie previously, pre-ridiculously high egg prices. Happy Pie Day! I prefer that to Pi, which I don’t understand (math deficit in my brain).

I just finished reading this fabulous MG book to my seniors today. https://www.amazon.com/Miscalculations-Lightning-Girl-Stacy-McAnulty/dp/1524767581. The reason I mention it is the protagonist, Lucy, becomes a math savant after being struck by lightning (think Dustin Hoffman in Rain Man.) When she’s nervous, she starts reciting the digits of Pi. She also volunteers at a dog shelter and falls in love with a dog named Cutie Pie, which she affectionately nicknames Pi. It would be a great read for one of your grandchildren.
