Happy April Fool’s Day. The day is more fun when you have a house full of children or a classroom of sixth graders. Regardless, it is going to be an amazing day.

Oh, how I loved April Fool’s Day as a child. We came up with such lame jokes as “Here comes the bus” or “Your toast is burning” or “The cows are out.”

I have 4 siblings. When we were kids, this was always an “interesting” day.
Until now I didn’t know there was an actual April Fish Day in France or anywhere else.

I sent the kids to school with their bags of April Fool’s tricks. :) All of our teachers probably know to expect the “nail through the finger” trick but they are good sports!

One of my favorite days of the year.

On April 1st, children make cut-out fish. They sneak up behind someone, stick the fish on their back, and shout, “Poisson d’avril!” So much fun!
